MEYER Floating Solutions, a global pioneer in floating infrastructure, is pleased to announce that it has been awarded the construction contract for ‚Floating Wave,‘ an innovative floating surf platform developed by the Hamburg-based company Floating Wave. This project aims to transform urban surfing by bringing sustainable and accessible surf experiences to city centers in a way unmatched by any other artificial wave.
The Hamburg Project
The first ‚Floating Wave‘ platform will be installed in Hamburg’s Fischereihafen, revitalizing underutilized harbor areas into vibrant spaces for sports, recreation, and tourism. The platform is set for commissioning in 2026 and has gained broad support from local authorities and policymakers. Built entirely offsite in a controlled factory environment, the platform ensures minimal on-site disruption while maintaining the highest quality standards.
Designed for long-term, sustainable operation, the platform will serve as a vibrant hub for recreation and leisure. Beyond surfing, it will offer amenities such as a restaurant, bar, fitness area, and surf shop, making it a dynamic destination for visitors throughout the year.
