Barbara Muckermann, Silversea Cruises’ Chief Marketing Officer, hosts a series of virtual ship tours aboard Silversea’s newest ship, Silver Moon.
After taking delivery of the new ship from Fincantieri in Ancona, Italy, on Friday October 30, 2020, Silversea Cruises today unveils the first glimpses of Silver Moon’s interiors—the ninth ship in the cruise line’s ultra-luxury fleet. Barbara Muckermann, Silversea’s Chief Marketing Officer, hosts a series of five virtual ship tours, in which viewers are guided through Silver Moon’s new S.A.L.T. venues, public spaces, restaurants, and suites.
“Taking delivery of our beautiful new Silver Moon was a very proud moment for our cruise line,” says Muckermann. “The ship represents the pinnacle of ultra-luxury travel in the 21st century, and we have made many innovative enhancements from her sister ship, Silver Muse, for the enjoyment of our guests. From our new S.A.L.T. ecosystem, which will enable travellers to delve deeper into destinations through the lens of food and drink, to the enriched public spaces, the enhancements aboard Silver Moon symbolise a refinement of Silversea’s already ultra-luxury cruise experience. We cannot wait to welcome our guests aboard this beauty in the near future.”
1. INTRODUCTION
Stood before Silver Moon, Muckermann begins with a preamble, introducing the ship’s key features and welcoming viewers to Fincantieri’s shipyard in Ancona. At 40,700 GRT and 212.8m in length, and with many pioneering features that discern the ship from sister ship Silver Muse, Silver Moon epitomises 21st-century luxury travel.
2. S.A.L.T. VENUES
Debuting aboard Silver Moon is the innovative new culinary enrichment programme S.A.L.T., an acronym of Sea and Land Taste, which will enable guests to travel deeper through a range of destination-focused gastronomic experiences—both on-board and ashore. As part of the S.A.L.T. programme, three new venues will unlock immersive culinary experiences for guests, forming a hub of culinary discovery on Deck 4: among the largest of eight restaurants aboard Silver Moon, S.A.L.T. Kitchen is the first large-scale regional restaurant aboard a luxury cruise ship, offering a menu that changes with the destination and a regionally inspired wine list; S.A.L.T. Lab is a test kitchen that enables guests to learn about local ingredients and artisanal techniques, through insightful workshops, tastings, and demonstrations; and S.A.L.T. Bar allows guests to sample the most authentic flavours of the destination, through a large selection of regional wines, spirits, and other drinks.
3. PUBLIC SPACES
Silver Moon takes influence from the successful design of her sister ship, Silver Muse, and maintains the small-ship intimacy and spacious all-suite accommodations that are hallmarks of the Silversea experience. At the same time, a number of public spaces have been reimagined for the enjoyment of guests: the Dolce Vita lounge, the Connoisseur’s Corner, the Pool Deck, and the Spa and Fitness Centre have each undergone comprehensive redesigns for the benefit of guests’ comfort and enjoyment. Moreover, the Arts Café, the Panorama Lounge, the Observation Library, the Venetian Lounge, and the Casino will each welcome guests with atmospheres of whispered luxury.
4. SUITES
Silver Moon accommodates 596 guests in 298 elegant suites—96% of which include a balcony. Enriched with elegant décor, premium materials, and luxurious amenities, Silver Moon’s spacious suites benefit from one of the highest space-to-guest ratios of any luxury cruise accommodation, offering superlative comfort to guests—a characteristic feature of the Silversea experience. And, with bespoke, handcrafted luxury beds by Savoir enriching the ship’s top 10 suites—four Owner’s Suites, four Grand Suites, and two Royal Suites—guests in these accommodations will experience a distinctive level of comfort even as they sleep. Guests in every suite will enjoy the dedicated service of a butler, as well as an in-suite bar, stocked with preferred beverages; in-suite dining, available 24 hours per day; and various other luxurious amenities.
5. RESTAURANTS
Aboard Silver Moon, travellers will enjoy the use of eight restaurants—each with a distinct concept. On Deck 4, popular restaurants Atlantide and Kaiseki have each undergone extensive redesigns when compared to Silver Muse. Aboard Silver Moon, Atlantide has been enlarged to accommodate up to 220 guests. Minimalist yet sophisticated, the enhanced design of Kaiseki will take inspiration from the best Asian restaurants in the world. Here, guests will witness expert sushi chefs in action, as they prepare fresh sushi and sashimi, and other Asian dishes. Serving fine French cuisine in an elegant atmosphere, Silversea’s signature restaurant, La Dame, will also enjoy a brand new design aboard Silver Moon, enlarged to accommodate 56 guests. Positioned on Deck 8, from which guests can enjoy far-reaching views out to sea, La Dame also offer guests the opportunity to dine under the stars on Silver Moon. Moreover, as part of a unique new collaboration, Lalique has crafted 11 bespoke crystal panels to enrich the restaurant’s aesthetic further still, for the enjoyment of Silversea’s guests. Silversea’s guests will also enjoy fine cuisine in La Terrazza, Silver Note, The Grill, Spaccanapoli, and S.A.L.T. Kitchen.
